Hot on the heels of the Cthulhu Britannica: London boxed set, we're pleased to announce the next products in the Cthulhu Britannica line: The Curse of Nineveh, The Journal of Reginald Campbell Thompson, and The Journal of Neve Selcibuc.
The Curse of Nineveh is an epic campaign set in London, whilst The Journal of Reginald Campbell Thompson and The Journal of Neve Selcibuc are a pair of bespoke handouts, in-world artefacts that complement the campaign wonderfully.
In ancient times, when Nineveh fell, so too was a terrible evil was banished. This evil, a god named Nabu with ambitions to rule humanity, was bound by the Children of Tranquillity into his former temple and buried beneath the sands. Two and a half thousand years later a group of archaeologists uncovered the Temple of Nabu and unleashed a terrible curse – the Curse of Nineveh!
The Curse of Nineveh is a new seven-part Call of Cthulhu campaign set in London in the summer of 1925. The investigators find themselves embroiled in the events that surround the return of the expedition from Nineveh and the terrible curse that they brought back with them. They must face shadowy watchers, a nefarious criminal mastermind and race against time to stop an ancient plan from being fulfilled – a plan that threatens not only London, but the whole British empire!
We've got a great team of writers onboard for this one: Mike Mason (line editor for Call of Cthulhu at Chaosium), Paul Fricker (who wrote Call of Cthulhu 7th edition), Scott Dorward (our own line developer for World War Cthulhu) and Mark Latham (former editor of White Dwarf and soon-to-be-published novelist).
The Journal of Reginald Campbell Thompson and The Journal of Neve Selcibuc are both designed to look like in-world artefacts. They go hand in hand with The Curse of Nineveh campaign, acting as a prologue of sorts – the former tells the tale of the expedition to Nineveh itself, the latter touches on the mysterious events that surround the expedition's return before the investigators get involved. Although they're both great reads by themselves, they really come into their own if you're a Keeper running the Curse of Nineveh as the journals both serve as handouts that you can hand to your players at the appropriate place in the story! They're shaping up to be something really special!
While you don't need Cthulhu Britannica: London to play the campaign, you will find it packed full of descriptions of London, its environs and its inhabitants that will prove invaluable during the game.
The Curse of Nineveh, The Journal of Reginald Campbell Thompson, and The Journal of Neve Selcibuc are all coming soon – keep an eye on the website for more information as the preorder draws nearer.
